Signs & Symptoms : Checklist 1
- Do you experience headaches or fatigue when reading, driving, playing sports?
- Do you find it difficult to concentrate or focus on near objects?
- Do you notice that small prints seem to have less contrast?
- Do you require brighter light or more direct light when reading?
- Do you adjust your reading material to be held further away from you?
- Are you vision blurred or distorted at any distances?
- Do you see doubles?
Signs & Symptoms : Checklist 2
More often than not, children do not tell us what discomfort they face, merely because they thought what they experience is normal. Hence, parents & teachers should watch out for these habits or signs in children. Their “laziness” may actually be due to eye problems.These are what we may see or perceive
- Not doing well in school
- Do not like doing homework
- Short attention span
- “Copy” differently from what’s written on the board
- Avoid reading
- Taking frequent breaks while reading
- Only read for a short while

Do you have any of the following symptoms?- (Very) poor night vision
- Do you experience blurry or cloudy vision?
- Does your vision deteriorates even further in bright light?
- Do you see halos around lights (at night)?
- Do you experience fading of colours? (Especially colours blue & purple)
- Do you see floaters, flashes & spots? They may be harmless, but may also indicate a serious problem.

In general, human beings come equipped with two eyes and one brain ☺. The successful teaming of the two eyes allows us to see in 3 dimensions (3D) – depth, height & width – with precision. 3D vision is used when you or your children are crossing the road, while driving, playing sports, and so on.Go through the following checklist. Do you have, experience or complain of the followings while doing close work? [close work i.e. reading, computer work, deskwork, playing handheld video games, doing crafts, etc.]
- eye strain (especially when or after reading)
- headaches
- blurred vision
- double vision
- inability to concentrate on near work
- short attention span
- frequent loss of place
- squinting, rubbing the eyes
- cover or close one eye (while reading/doing close work)
- sleepiness during activity
- trouble remembering what was read
- words appear to move, jump, swim or float
- problems with motion sickness and/or vertigo
Do you know? Just because both of your eyes are open and healthy, you may actually be using only one eye. You may have eye problem and not even realize it!
Go through the following signs & symptoms. Do you or your loved ones show some or all of the signs & symptoms?
- trouble catching balls & other objects thrown through the air
- avoidance of tasks that require depth perception (for example, games involving smaller balls travelling through the air, handicrafts)
- frequent mishaps due to misjudgment of physical distances
(particularly within 20 feet from your body), such as:>
- trips& stumbles on uneven surfaces, stairs, curbs
- frequent spilling or knocking over of objects
- bumping into doors, furniture & other stationery objects
- sports and/or car parking accidents
- avoidance of eye contact
- poor posture while doing activities that require near vision
- one shoulder noticeably higher
- frequent head tilt
- problems with motion sickness &/or vertigo
